About
Daybreak Creative is a creative studio based in Christchurch, New Zealand. Founded by photographer and designer Jadon Probert, the studio crafts compelling, thoughtful, and aesthetically pleasing material for its clients, helping them to bring their business and ideas to life in the best way possible.
I’ll be honest, Daybreak is a pretty fresh-faced addition to the graphic design industry. Having officially launched in 2026, I definitely don’t claim to be an aged design studio with decades of experience. However, I have worked with a variety of clients and bring a strong love and passion for all things creative into every project.
Why “Daybreak”?
The name Daybreak is quite a personal one that refers to the idea of a sunrise representing new beginnings and a new, more positive chapter of life. This specific interpretation of daybreak is mentioned many times throughout the Bible in passages like Psalm 30:5b and Luke 1:78-79 (shown below). These passages talk of joy and peace coming to those who weep and “sit in darkness” but, more importantly, they point to Jesus as the only true source of that transformation. As a Christian, this gives me a lot of hope and has been a comfort to me throughout my life. I wanted the name of my business to be meaningful and to convey something beyond the services I offer, so I thought Daybreak Creative would be a good fit.
Weeping may stay for the night,
but rejoicing comes in the morning
Psalm 30:5b
Because of God’s tender mercy,
the morning light from heaven is about to break upon us,
to give light to those who sit in darkness and in the shadow of death,
and to guide us to the path of peace
Luke 1:78-79
Jadon Probert
I’m Jadon, the founder and lead designer at Daybreak, which I started after completing a Diploma in Digital Media and Design at Yoobee College. While the company was launched in 2025, I’ve been doing graphic design since 2021, initially designing a logo for my brother when he started producing music. I’ve also had an interest in photography since 2016 and have experience across a range of photographic genres, but most enjoy photographing sports and wildlife. I have a deep love for all things creative and have many creative interests outside of my job, including songwriting, fashion, and poetry. One interesting thing to know about me is that I have a physical disability. In 2016 I had three brain haemorrhages completely out of the blue and was left with severe weakness (hemiplegia) down the left side of my body. This meant I could no longer do the sports I loved, and it was because of this that I started to pursue photography as a way to stay somewhat involved. Through extensive physical therapy I’ve recovered a lot of the strength in the left side of my body, although I still walk with a limp and have very little use of my left hand. However, I’ve been able to get back to snowboarding and riding a bike again, which has been very cool. My physical limitations do not affect the quality of the work I produce, as I hope my portfolio can attest to, but it’s probably good to be aware of them.
